Ongoing Conflicts and Disputes:
Tibet is currently ruled by China, most of its inhabitants however recognize the Tibetan Government in exile headed by the Dalai Lama as their rightful government. The Dalai Lama is regarded by the Chinese state as a separatist threat and lives in exile in India since 1959. No country openly disputes China's claim to sovereignty and China has blocked all UN Security Council resolutions on Tibet since the PRC took over the seat of China in 1971.
